How to make an Instagram Story graphic (1080 × 1920)

Stories are full-screen and vertical, so feed-sized posts look small with big empty bars around them. Making the graphic at 1080 × 1920 pixels fills the whole screen.

Open the post maker → Free Free to use. Free exports carry a small Postscript watermark; Pro ($24.99 once) removes it.

Step by step

  1. Open Social Media → Normal Post. Then choose the 9:16 Story size.
  2. Pick a template and add your text. Keep the headline in the middle of the screen.
  3. Add a photo. Drag it into place behind or below the text.
  4. Export and post. Download it to your phone and add it to your Story.

Leave room at the top and bottom

Instagram puts your profile picture at the top of a Story and the reply bar at the bottom. Keep important text out of roughly the top and bottom 250 pixels so nothing gets covered.

Make it tappable

Stories are watched fast. Use one message per frame, big text, and a clear next step, such as "link in bio" or a question sticker you add in Instagram after uploading. If you have several frames, keep the same template so they feel like one sequence.
